Extra buses on the 59...eventually

A big problem for many people in the Oval and Kennington area is having to get on packed buses each morning to get to work. Often by the time the buses get to our part of London they are already packed out!

The good news is that Transport for London have confirmed that the No 59 bus service (runs through the Oval area from Streatham Hill to King's Cross) will get at least two extra buses an hour at peak travel times, and extra buses throughout the day. The Not-So-Good News is that the extra buses will not be implemented until the end of 2009.

A useful map of bus routes going through the Oval/Kennington Cross area (including the 59) can be found here at the TFL website, and click here for the bus routes going through Vauxhall Cross.

Local Lib Dem Councillors and Parliamentary Campaigner Caroline Pidgeon will continue to put pressure on TFL to improve transport services.
