Save our Fountains!

We were concerned to see that the fountain in Vauxhall Park has been turned off by the council, and on enquiring further, we were told that the Labour administration at the Town Hall have decided to switch off all fountains across Lambeth as a cost-cutting measure, without consulting either local councillors or the Friends of Vauxhall Park.

We think this is a false economy as these kind of features help to make our parks and green spaces pleasant for all local residents, whatever your age.

It is especially upsetting in Vauxhall Park as the fountain was brought back into working order through local residents' voluntary work. We are calling on the Town Hall to see sense and get them working again soon.
